Life could definitely be worse. I came into work this morning, finished up a few things in the office, and took the freeway down from our office in Carlsbad to Tony Gwynn Stadium, here at San Diego State University. Phenom pitching prospect Stephen Strasburg is set to pitch tonight, and I’m ridiculously excited to see it in person. There are a few hours to go before gametime, but here’s a little peek into what it’s like here.
As soon as you get to the stadium, it’s pretty clear who the star is.
The stadium itself is great, and named after Hall of Famer and San Diego legend Tony Gwynn. He happens to be the coach of this team as well. Never a bad thing when you coach a team in a stadium with your name on it.
Finally, here’s a plaque right outside the building, showing the dedication and donors.
It’s a beautiful day for a baseball game, not that there’s any other kind here. Plenty more to come, so keep checking this blog!
