Locations and Map Pieces
With the release of 25th Anniversary Celebration set comes a new mechanic. Map Pieces and Locations will be introduced with the Lab Ray. Your goal is to collect all four Map Pieces. These cards come together to make a gorgeous panorama.
As you draw one of the four unique Map Pieces you “collect” them into play. Once you have your last piece you place them all into your Rainbow Pool and bring out the Location card from your Rainbow pool. This powerful card sits above your Rainbow Pool allowing you to transform your Neopet once per turn during the Preparation phase. The Lab Ray is not removed from play after a round is over. You can use it on future rounds to transform your pet, incredible! This means that cards like Khan cannot remove locations from play.
For SCIENCE!!!
Putting together the Map Piece may sound like a daunting task, worry not! You will have the help of a new Legend to help with the pursuit of science. The Lab Ray Scientist will assist you in finding two pieces and to help get you halfway across the finish line. However, this will cost you cards from your Inventory. Anything for the sake of scientific progress!
Lab Ray Neopets
There are exclusive Neopets Pets in the Rainbow Pool that can only be brought out using the Lab Ray. These will feature powerful mechanics that cannot be accessed with a Paint Brush. Lab Ray Neopets are capable of very amazing but also vastly different feats! They also have stunning art with gorgeous matching backgrounds. Here are a few examples of what you can Zap into the Battledome. Halving damage? Cheating in cards? What else could possibly lie in the Lab Ray…
