1st Appearance Arc, Issue 3 – New Mutants
Welcome to the second card preview for VS. System® 2PCG®: New Mutants! Today we are going to focus on a few characters that have a special relationship with equipment and technology.
The first mutant we are showing today is a sister to Colossus: Magik.
Magik is a mutant who uses, well, magic; she is the Sorceress Supreme of the Limbo dimension. As ruler, she wields the Soulsword – a powerful artifact she created from her own energy that she can summon from nothingness at any time.
The Soulsword is our first equipment token and our first equipment with Unique. Unique basically makes a card function as a supporting character – if another copy of it would appear, you KO the previous card. (Previously, of course, you could have any number of equipment with the same name on your side.)
There are a plethora of genius-level inventors in the Marvel Universe; Tony Stark, Peter Parker, Hobie Brown. But there aren’t many characters that are as literally into technology as our next card today: the shape-shifting alien known as Warlock.
Speaking of the techno-organic virus, how about a look at the most popular New Mutant cyborg time traveler: Cable!
Cable likes equipment. He wants all the equipment to be his equipment. He even sort of is equipment.
It’s almost philosophical. “Don’t get too attached to your possessions.”
