How do you say thank you to fans who have kept your company in business for over 25 years? Upper Deck has done a lot over the years to give back to the hobby, most recently with the company’s wildly successful Random Acts of Kindness program. For the recent National Sports Collectors Convention Upper Deck really worked hard to let die-hard fans in attendance know how much we appreciate their support.
Upper Deck upgraded fan’s lanyards and provided complimentary autograph books to hundreds throughout the weekend. We had a variety of raffles as well that drew in HUGE crowds in hopes of scoring a free trading card or memorabilia item.
We even hooked up ten random fans with the opportunity to open up about $2000 in free Upper Deck product with the Premier Case Break which took place on the main stage of the Case Break Pavilion on Friday.
By far one of the greatest promotions of the weekend, ran by any company, was Upper Deck’s Random Acts of Kindness Scavenger Hunt. On Friday Upper Deck hid 25 Random Acts of Kindness envelopes around the convention center that were redeemable on site for different prizes. Hundreds of collectors participated throughout the day, waiting for clues from Upper Deck staff as to where the other envelopes could be found. After a clue was revealed, dozens of fans scurried off in an effort to be the first to find and claim the prize!
Randy from our Customer Care team ran point on the promotion and did an incredible job. It was so successful and fun on Friday, Randy worked to bring it back and do it again on Saturday. It wasn’t easy, but he was able to put together another 25 prizes, hide the envelopes and provide clues again to fans throughout the day. It was another great day of fun for fans and a great way for our Customer Care team to show some love to the collectors at the show.
“While raffles and pack wars are fun, our scavenger hunts really allow us to engage with collectors on a more personal level while also encouraging them to get out and check out the show,” said Randy Reyes, customer care representative for Upper Deck. “Although we were available the entire show for collectors if they had issues, that was all manageable. There were no lines at Upper Deck of customers complaining which allowed for us to do some proactive events like this to bring smiles to the faces of our customers.”
Upper Deck finished up the show with a private party for the company’s largest collectors at Harry Caray’s Italian Steakhouse on Saturday night. Over 50 of Upper Deck’s greatest supporters were thrilled to score some really incredible collectibles while getting the chance to meet Notre Dame icon Rudy Ruettiger and spending time with other like-minded collectors.
Couldn’t make the show? Start planning now for the 2016 National Sports Collectors Convention which will be held in Atlantic City, New Jersey! And also stay tuned as we will be sharing other giveaways and promotions for those who couldn’t make the show in the near future!
