Upper Deck frequently gets requests from teachers for complimentary trading cards to use as rewards or teaching manipulatives in classroom. It really shows the creativity of so many of our American educators as teachers have written us with ideas on how to use trading cards in the classroom for subjects like mathematics, art, reading, writing, history, physical education, political science and more. And this year as millions head back to school we are receiving more requests than ever before. It would seem that many teachers actually prefer Upper Deck cards to apples…
We do have inventory on a variety of promotional packs to use each year with educators, but there have been so many requests this year, we need each teacher to qualify for complimentary product. Don’t worry though, it is FREE to qualify, we just need a little time on your part. Here is all you need to do to qualify to receive some complimentary product for your classroom:
- Write a lesson plan for how you would use Upper Deck trading cards in your class complete with title, subject, objective, grade level, duration, summary of tasks, materials, references and take home tasks.
- Take a photograph of yourself holding an Upper Deck card in the classroom as if you were using it to teach. For legal reasons, not children can be shown in the image.
- Send your lesson plan (preferably in a Word Document) and your photo (preferably a high resolution jpeg image) in an email to us at [email protected] by midnight on Monday, September 30. Please title the subject of that email, “Upper Deck Cares About Educators.” Please include your full name, grade you teach and the address at the school. Product will only be sent to the school address. If you have a sport preference, please list it although we may not be able to guarantee that is the sport you will receive.
- We will then go through the submissions we received and allocate packs in equitable fashion. We will ship those out to educators in October with plenty of time to use with students throughout the course of the year for absolutely free.
Upper Deck reserves the right to end this promotion early in the event we receive more qualified submissions than we can assist with. Additionally, Upper Deck also reserves the right to share lesson plans and images received for other educators to potentially use or borrow from. And lastly, it should go without saying, but we will be confirming you are actually a teacher employed at the school you indicate. It seems silly we would have to post that, but some collectors would go for great lengths for free packs!
