Mechanical Perspective
To put it simply aspects within Rush of Ikorr represent the intention, motivation, or will of the card. This means mechanically that some aspects will focus on certain actions more or otherwise be able to do them more efficiently. Some of those effects and actions are listed in the parentheses above. Additionally, the decks you construct are limited to the Aspects represented in your Avatars card. However, you can include any cards that do not have an Aspect (Like Wheat Farmer!). Let’s take a look at what that means with Zeus, Crowned in Thunder below.
Zeus, Crowned in Thunder here has both the Intuition and the Prophecy aspects. You will be able to add cards from either aspect in your decks with Zeus at the Helm. This Avatar in particular relies on bolstering its destructive nature with cards from the Intuition aspect. Prophecy gives additional support with card advantage and its repertoire of powerful spells. Pegasus and Oracular Visions below are some examples of the different types of effects you can have in a deck with both aspects.
A Note on Card without Aspects
You will find that there are some cards within Rush of Ikorr that are not beholden to an aspect. These cards have an openness to any cause or goal. This means that they can slot into any deck regardless of their Aspect alignment. This helps tremendously with deck building, especially when rounding out decks that care about a particular playstyle. Here are a few examples of some of the neutral cards you can find in our first set.
That is everything you need to know to get started on aspects! Future sets will contain more support for each aspect adding additional support to different strategies over time. Over the next few weeks, we will be sharing even more card spoilers so keep an eye out for your favorite aspects.
