We all have our secrets… but Legendary® No Time To Die is no longer one of them! Join the cunning and masterful class of James Bond and his allies to take on Lyutsifer Safin and his obsession for world domination. With new heroes, villains, missions, schemes, a new mastermind and more, this new expansion brings a thrilling chapter to the world of Legendary® James Bond. Let’s look at what’s on its way.
What’s New?
Legendary® No Time to Die introduces a handful of new mechanics and cards that are sure to bring new threats to both the allies and enemies of James Bond. Let’s take a look.
Risk it All
You will find this powerful effect in the form of a new Hero keyword. But like all great stunts… it comes with a price. If a Hero has Risk it All followed by game text, it means:
- While this Hero is in your play area, once this turn you may KO the top card of your deck. If you do, you get the game text next to Risk it All.
Here are some heroes that are willing to risk it all:
Threat
This new ability found on Villains and Missions is sure to bring an extra layer of decision-making to the game. The Threat keyword presents a persisting problem each turn by offering additional penalties if the active player does not deal with them. Each instance of Threat will be accompanied by a value (example: Threat [Attack] 2) and a penalty that follows. This means that the active player can choose to pay 2 attack during their turn to avoid the penalty. However, if the card is not also defeated as normal, the threat will persist to the next turn. If you have enough attack power to defeat the card as normal, that will also avoid the threat since they don’t trigger until the end of the turn. If you don’t have enough attack, that’s alright you can still at least pay a little to avoid the threat… for now.
Here are some threatening cards you might come across:
Nanobot Infection
If you were looking closely at Safin’s “Gardeners”, you will notice some bolded text. This refers to a new type of special wound, called Nanobot Infection! They are different than regular Wounds in that they do not go in the Wound stack and will eventually stop players from playing heroes of a specific class (brutal!). You will gain one of these special wounds whenever an effect would say “Infected with Nanobots.” When this happens, you will:
- Look through the Nanobot Infection stack and find one card matching each different class-among the Heroes in your hand and play area.
- Randomly gain one of those Nanobot Infections and put the rest back on in the stack.
Later you will find that having these Nanobot Infections in your deck are quite disruptive and will hinder you from playing Heroes. You can KO them as normal with effects that do so, except for Resting. These wounds do not have that ability! So, keep yourself safe and really consider your options when facing down possible Nanobot Infection.
Bionic Eye
This is a new Special Gadget! Shuffle it into your other Gadgets and turn the Gadget stack face down. When you acquire the Bionic Eye, you will look through your deck and may discard a card from it. As we know, thinning is winning! On top of a cool ability, it’s got a great photo on it:
Defeat James Bond (Scheme)
This new Scheme throws a wrench into the On Assignment space by adding an Extra card and a Scheme Twist! The goal will be to get the Extra card “Time to Go” to escape before the Assassination Scheme Twist does.
What’s Returning?
Legendary® No Time To Die is not only adding new mechanics and cards, but will be bringing back some staples as well. Let’s take a look at some cards with returning keywords and abilities!
