Today we are taking a closer look at the new 55-card Crossover Vol. 5 expansion for Vs. System® 2PCG®! You will relive the greatest battle in the MCU with the first Photographic crossover set with powerful characters and iconic moments from Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. With 4 different main characters, 10 new supporting character cards and the return of Boss Battles and Story Mode, Crossover Vol. 5 is sure to bring a new look to how  you play Vs. System® 2PCG®!

 

I… Am… Inevitable

This year’s Crossover showcases some of the most iconic characters and moments in the MCU! With new visions of your favorite heroes and fresh faces from the Infinity Saga, Crossover Vol. 5 brings an exciting chapter of epic gameplay to Vs. System® 2PCG®. Here are some of the Level 1 and Level 2 Main Characters you will be seeing in this expansion:

Nothing Lasts Forever At the start of your Main Phase, put two -1/-1 counters on Thor. I'm Still Worthy! Level Up (1) - When Frigga appears on your side, remove each -1/-1 counter from Thor and he gains 1 XP. "I Couldn't Stop Him Iron Man can't strike while defending. I…Am…Iron Man At the start of your turn, Iron Man may pay power symbols equal to the total remaining health of all enemy characters. If he does, remove those characters from the game and KO Iron Man. "

 

We have learned from the Avengers that power is not found in oneself but in the collective strength of the team! That means your main characters need some help to be the best they can be. Check out 2 of your 10 new supporting characters, Frigga and Rescue:

I See With More Than Eyes Main [ENERGY]: Look at an enemy player's hand. You may choose a player to discard their hand. If you do, they draw that many cards. Electromagnetic Force Fields [ANYTURN] Any Combat [ENERGY] or [MIGHT]: Choose a character in the combat. It can’t be struck this turn.

 

Boss Battles & Story Mode Return!

First debuting in Crossover Vol. 3, Boss Battles and Story Mode introduced a fun alternative to playing Vs. System® 2PCG®. These game modes are returning in Crossover Vol. 5 with new MCU-inspired cards that are sure to add a different perspective to the fight! Check out the Hulk Boss Battle and The Cosmic Scales Story Mode cards:

When a location appears on your side, if it's: [ENERGY] Gamma Radiation: Put a -1/-1 counter on each enemy character. Hulk can't be stunned this turn. [INTELLECT] Puny Banner: Draw three cards. [MIGHT] Smash!: KO an enemy supporting character. Then put +1/+1 counters equal to its ATK on Hulk. [SKILL] I'm Always Angry: Hulk gains Berserker for the rest of the game. (When he attacks, put a +1/+1 counter on him.) [WILD]: Choose one of the effects above; or once per game, heal two wounds from Hulk.The fate of the universe is at stake. Setup: Player A builds one deck that is legal with three different main characters and choses one of them to use for Part 1. Part 1: The Snap? Player A Wins: To the garden. Remove one copy of each supporting character in Player B's deck for the rest of the Story. Player B Wins: We've stopped him...for now. Player A must choose a new main character for Part 2. Part 2: The Blip? Player A Wins: Inevitable. If Player A also won Part 1, remove another copy of each supporting character in Player B's deck. If Player A lost Part 1, they go back to their first main character for Part 3. Player B Wins: I think it worked! If Player B also won Part 1, Player A must use their final main character for Part 3. If Player B lost Part 1, return their removed supporting characters to their deck for Part 3. Part 3: The Aftermath Player A Wins: I will shred this universe down to its last atom. Player B Wins: We did this all day, and much more.
