We’re back with more Legendary®: Midnight Sons! All you out there prowling for reveals and eager to summon otherworldly horrors are in luck, as we’ve got more keywords and cards to share. Last time we learned all about Blood Frenzy, and saw the return of Moonlight and Sunlight.
This time around we’ve got another returning mechanic courtesy of Legendary®: Secret Wars, Volume 2.
Patrol
Elsa Bloodstone and Blade are both renowned monster hunters, and to capture their skills in stalking supernatural threats we’ve brought back Patrol. When playing these cards, check the city space that’s mentioned (in this Elsa card’s case, the Streets; for Blade, the Rooftops and Sewers). You can then use the specified Patrol ability if that city space has no cards in it. This must be at the time you play the card, so be sure to plan ahead and keep the city safe!
The city isn’t the only area you’ll have to be aware of in this expansion, though. Thanks to this new keyword, the HQ is in danger too…
Haunt
When a Villain with Haunt appears, tuck it beneath a Hero, ‘Haunting’ it. Players can’t recruit Haunted Heroes. In those situations, you’ll have to spend equal to the Haunted Hero’s cost in order to “exorcise” them. Doing this then allows you to either KO that Hero, or choose a player to gain it.
The Villain isn’t done yet – once exorcised, it then enters the city, ignoring any Ambush effects it has. This process doesn’t count as fighting the Villain, and as such you won’t trigger any Fight effects until you finish them off in the city. Haunted Heroes can still be affected by various cards and situations, though, such as being put back in the Hero Deck. The important thing to remember is that they cannot be recruited!
We’re getting closer to our May 10th release, with plenty more monsters and mysteries in store. Be ready for what Masterminds have in store for you all, and try to survive the hunt until then…
