It’s that time again! Our next Vs. System® 2PCG® Featured Format is here and it’s all about pairs. 

No, you’re not seeing double after all the streamed entertainment of Previously On… We’re challenging players to think about deck structure and putting in some special rules for main characters to embrace the essence of:

Featured Format #19: Duality

Your deck must have exactly two copies of its Supporting Characters, Plot Twists, and Equipment. 

No more, no less!

For Locations, you must have at least two copies of any in deck, but can have more.

Season: Spring 2023

Dates: April 1st, 2023 – June 31st, 2023

Rules:

• You must have exactly two copies of each Supporting Character, Plot Twist, and Equipment you put in your 60-card deck.
  • Supporting Characters, Plot Twists, Equipment, and Locations are not restricted in out-of-game piles.
• You must have at least two copies of each Location you put in your 60-card deck.
• You can’t have more than two different Main Characters total anywhere – in play, your deck, your level up zone, or your out-of-game piles). Different levels of the same unique main character are allowed.
• You can have the usual one Main Character, and it can level up normally.
• You can have exactly two Main Characters (assuming an effect says you can), and they will level up normally.
• You can’t use Main Characters if they start the game with more than two in play, or if there are more than two of them across your deck, level up zone, and/or out-of-game piles. This restriction applies to unique Main Characters as well as Main Characters with Swarm.
  • You can’t use a Main Character if it says you start the game with three or more of them on your side.
  • You can’t use a Main Character if it requires an out-of-game pile that has two or more Main Characters in it.

As a reminder, our upcoming Regional Tournament held in San Francisco, California on April 1st will still feature Previously On… as a format. We look forward to seeing what decks and strategies players put together for Duality, and are excited to share at least one venue where you’ll be able to put them to the test. 

Our next Vs. System® 2PCG® Regional Tournament will be hosted by Collected Comics & Games in Fort Worth, Texas this June!
