Thanos has won.
Half of all life in the universe is gone, dusted into nothingness and leaving only grief behind. This is the grim reality Earth’s Mightiest Heroes faced between Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War and Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame, and it’s one that players will find themselves in thanks to Legendary®: Marvel Studios’ The Infinity Saga.
I don’t just mean thematically, either:
Yes, thanks to this Scheme you can try to overcome the universal threat Thanos represents. With a snap of his fingers (and a few Twists from the Villain Deck) your potential options and allies are no more.
It’s a simple but particularly potent threat for Legendary®, and it’s not the only challenge that awaits players in this expansion. One look at his turn as Mastermind makes that clear:
It’s not just Thanos himself that makes him potent, but the Infinity Stones he brings into the game as well as the consequences of facing him head-on.
To represent his overwhelming power, the struggles of the Avengers, and the cosmic scale of the Infinity Stones, Thanos has been purposefully designed as an extra challenging Mastermind. Facing him is linked to the Stones, but if you are playing solo and opt to use a different Villain group, all his text and tactics that refer to them would apply to your chosen Villain group instead.
Hopefully with all the keywords and cards previously shared, you’re feeling up to the task of facing Thanos, his Children, and the Infinity Stones. Players looking for something more difficult won’t want to miss this expansion, but we do have one last tool to share.
To better reflect the scope of these movies and the events they share, each Hero has greater card variety compared to most Legendary® expansions. This was also done in Legendary®: Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy, and will again reflect a 1/2/2/3/3/3 breakdown of rares, uncommons, and commons respectively.
We hope they’re enough to help you overcome Villains and Masterminds found in Legendary®: Marvel Studios’ The Infinity Saga when it releases on March 8th!
