Welcome back Vs. System 2PCG faithful!
The first 55-card Issue in the Arc, Lethal Protectors, focused on Venom and some other symbiotes. Here we were introduced to a new Evil team, the Symbiotes (). The second Issue, asked the question, “what if venom bonded with someone a little more sinister?” This final Issue explores the opposite and we see how the symbiotes can be used for Good!
Before we look at the cards, a reminder about symbiotes, hosts, and AKA. From the rules:
AKA is used quite a bit in the Arc, as the Symbiotes change hosts often. And it can be confusing with symbiotes in particular, as they are sentient beings as well. For example, the character Venom could have the AKA of every other hero and villain who ever used the same symbiote, like Agent Venom. Then Agent Venom would need AKA Venom as well. But we’ve already made Venoms and Agent Venoms without these AKAs. Our solution was to focus on the hosts, so any character with Eddie Brock as its host has AKA Venom.
In order to combat the symbiote threat, Spider-Man had to call on some old (Civil) war buddies.
Light/Darkforce Generation does not say “may” so you must put the referenced counter on a character in play. (It can be a character on either side.)
Both characters share a Level up power so by leaning on each other they team up to become stronger than the sum of their parts.
A note about Acrobatic: this keyword’s wording has been updated to make it clearer how it works. This does not change its functionality. This change applies to all previous cards with Acrobatic.
These two are inseparable; they might as well just be the same card…
Wow, both of them in one place!
Partnership does mean that this card is both Cloak and Dagger so playing a new Cloak or a new Dagger will KO this card. However, you can also power up this card with either a cloak or a dagger… or both!
Even with all this Lightforce the days ahead seem pretty dark. Join us next time to see how Peter gets by with a little help from his Spider-Friends… and family
Wield the Symbiotes to your advantage when Vs. System 2PCG: Spider-Verse comes to stores on November 24th!
