Who is Dr. Lawrence Rocks?
Dr. Rocks received his Masters of Science In chemistry from Purdue University, and his D.Sc (Doctor of Science) from Technische Hochschule Vienna, where he wrote his doctoral thesis in German in the field of analytical chemistry separating metal atoms in semi-aqueous solutions. Rocks authored the acclaimed book, The Energy Crisis in 1972, and he influenced the creation of the U.S. Dept of Energy. His research career has spanned from analytical chemistry to sports biochemistry to novel antiviral research.
Dr. Rocks created WeatherStationMoon, a unique concept calling for the establishment of an unmanned weather station on the moon to accurately measure climate change. The project aims to measure the earth’s temperature in totality, and in part, and the earth’s cloud cover dynamics.
What is the Islanders Children’s Foundation?
The Islanders Children’s Foundation (ICF) was created in 2003 to support the youth of the local community by providing opportunities to them. The Foundation has helped children in the Long Island region in the areas of health, education and youth hockey development. Since its inception, ICF has raised more than $14 million through various events and initiatives like this program with Upper Deck.
