Fans at the 2018 NHL® Stadium Series game at Annapolis got to enjoy a high-scoring affair where the Washington Capitals took home a victory against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The offensive stars certainly shined in the game, but it was the fans that really scored. Before the puck dropped, Upper Deck entertained thousands of fans with some very engaging promotions.
Since it was National Hockey Card Day, Upper Deck provided fans in attendance (primarily kids, military and one very excitable eagle names Slapshot) with FREE packs of NHL® cards. These special packs are produced just for National Hockey Card Day and have proven themselves to be a great way to share the hobby with puck fans. Everyone was thrilled to receive them!
The company’s main activation allowed fans to get closer to the game by actually getting their very own Upper Deck NHL® card made on site. Fans needed to get dressed in the apparel they wanted to wear for their card and then get their picture taken by Upper Deck’s professional photographers on site.
Then the card prints out, is cut on site and is delivered to a happy fan.
The team was cooking on this special Saturday delivering thousands of National Hockey Card Day packs and getting over 350 fans through the personalized card process in five hours. That’s creating one custom hockey card in less than a minute!
These types of activities help Upper Deck remain the collector’s choice!
