Welcome to an alternative Marvel Universe set in the dark gritty world of hard-knuckled detectives. It’s a grim take on the Roaring Twenties and Depression Thirties with tangled mysteries, flawed Heroes, corruption, betrayal, and moral grey areas. It’s a world immortalized by the Classic Marvel comic series that recasts their Heroes as unique Noir versions. Welcome to Legendary®: Marvel Noir.

Within this world of detectives and mysteries it’s only fitting that one of the new Keywords for this expansion is Investigate.

Investigate represents hard-bitten Noir detectives searching for evidence or allies. Some cards tell you to investigate for a certain type of Hero, Class, Cost, or other traits. This means to look at the top two cards of your deck. If one of those cards matches what you are looking for you can reveal it and draw it. You then put the rest back on either the top and/or bottom of your deck in any order.

Whether your investigation finds the right kind of card or not, you can still decide which cards go back on top or bottom of your deck. This lets you set up your next Investigation or make powerful combos with other abilities that care about the top of your deck.

Some abilities tell you to investigate entirely different decks, like the Villain, Hero and Bystander Decks. They will tell you what to do with the card you find. Like before, put the rest of the cards you looked at back on the top and/or bottom of that deck in any order.

One major addition to our games is the introduction of the First Printing Promo cards. Every game we release in 2017 will contain a First Printing Promo card. This includes not only our licensed games, but also our unlicensed ones as well. These cards can be anything from alternate art versions of existing cards, or cards containing new abilities or effects. With these cards appearing in only the first printing of each game, it’s best to pick up your copy early so you don’t miss out.

For Legendary: Marvel Noir, the First Printing Promo will be a Bystander card of Detective Wolverine.
