Upper Deck’s SP Game-Used NHL® trading card product is always a favorite with collectors. The 2016-17 version is offering a variety of new trading card collectibles, but there is a staple that has become a huge part of Ameet Acharya’s focus; the Supreme Patch and Glove cards. Ameet has been collecting these cards since the 2012-13 SP Game-Used release and he has acquired some great cards from the sets.
“It’s a hard choice to pick out my favorites as they are all very special to me. Some of my most prized cards are the 13-14 Tavares and Hartnell, the 14-15 Gretzky, Green and Guerin, and the 15-16 Chara,” said Ameet Acharya.
Acharya shared with us he really appreciates the landscape view of the memorabilia and the positioning of the patches in these cards. He also like the generous amount of memorabilia used in these cards which gives them a great look all to themselves. He typically uses collector message boards like HobbyInsider.net and local card shows to acquire new cards for his Supreme Patch & Glove collection.
“It’s always nice when a collector stops me at the Sportscard Expo to show me a Supreme pick-up they have made,” Acharya shared. “Sometimes those cards end up in my collection after a bit of haggling. The toughest ones to find feature Jean Beliveau. I have only seen a couple in all the time I’ve been collecting this set and I would love to get my hands on some of those.”
Acharya now had over 200 SP Game-Used Supreme Patch and Glove cards in his collection from the 2011-12 release to the latest SP Game-Used release. The 2016-17 product has him quite excited.
“This will be the first year to score a Connor McDavid Supreme card and I’m intrigued about the Supreme Socks cards,” said Acharya. “I’m also excited to see Steve Yzerman included in the set this year!”
If you pull a SP Game-Used Supreme Patch, Glove or Sock card, share your find with Acharya! You can send him a private message on Hobby Insider or email him at [email protected]. Congratulations on the amazing collection Ameet!
