When you open a collectibles shop, you need to work with an Authorized Distributor for Upper Deck in order to get our sports, entertainment, gaming and memorabilia product. Upper Deck has streamlined our distribution so there are just two distributors in Canada and three in the United States. While each of the distributors offer the same products in most cases, they all offer different terms, service and promotional opportunities.
Grosnor Distribution in Canada has been creating a lot of fans with shops throughout Canada because of a promotion they have been running there for a couple years. Based on support, shops can earn window graphics to help better merchandise their store. And they look incredible. Take a look at some of the graphics Grosnor has placed at shops throughout Canada this year.
“The contest was created to benefit the sports card shops in Canada,” said David Yates, President and CEO of Grosnor Distribution Inc. “Pin It to Win It doesn’t only promote Upper Deck and local collectible shops, but it’s also a chance for fans to win great Upper Deck prizes, and go back to their local card shops to collect them. In 2011 we moved our distribution center to Brampton, Ontario from Toronto and for months I drove by one of our better customers on my way to work. I was aware they were in Brampton, but wasn’t exactly sure of their location. One day, while sitting at a red light I saw the owner getting out of his car so I drove into his lot and realized there was not much to merchandise his store. Right there I had a ‘Eureka’ moment and thought of the window graphic idea to better support our partner shops.”
From January 2, 2017 through June 30, 2017, Grosnor is running their “Pin It to Win It” promotion again at participating retailers throughout Canada. Fans across Canada can enter their local card shops and receive ballots with a qualified Upper Deck purchase for both instant win, and daily draws for hobby boxes of 2016-17 NHL® Upper Deck Series One.
Store owners also win when their customers win. This year, instead of window graphics, Grosnor will be installing custom rink boards in arenas nearby their stores. Initiatives like this help create awareness and interest in these small businesses that actively promote the hobby of collecting Upper Deck hockey cards.

Very nice! I love seeing companies in the hobby help brick and mortar stores. It’s obviously not an easy business with the internet, but it still CAN be done well. Any extra boost that distributors/card companies can offer is fantastic. It’s also tougher to get kids into the hobby these days and those fantastic visuals have to help in that aspect.
How about one of those for
