The World Cup of Hockey is finally upon us and the tournament promises to deliver a bevy of incredible moments from the best players in the world! Upper Deck has a variety of fun plans for those excited for this incredible event both on site and throughout North America.
For those attending the World Cup of Hockey, please visit the Upper Deck booth at the Fan Village in Toronto! UD is partnering with Tim Hortons to offer fans a FREE personalized World Cup of Hockey trading card. Fans will be photographed and cards will be printed on site! Additionally, there are large 3-dimensional Upper Deck trading card borders that fans can take photos in. Make sure to tag @UpperDeckSports and #WCH2016 when you post them on social media!
With such an international crowd in attendance, fans can check out Upper Deck e-Pack™ where they can open NHL® packs, any time and in any country. For many fans that do not have a card shop nearby, we expect they will appreciate they can now open packs from their computer, tablet or phone. Fans can trade online with other fans throughout the world or have their cards shipped directly to them for a nominal fee.
Upper Deck will also be running a variety of tournaments for bubble hockey throughout the tournament.
UD will also be sampling some cards with fans in attendance next week! The Hockey Hall-of-Fame will also receive some Upper Deck World Cup of Hockey promotional retail packs next week and will be distributing them along with your paid admission while supplies last.
For those who cannot attend, Upper Deck is giving you a reason to visit your local card shops with a special World Cup of Hockey promotional set. The 5-card, foil-wrapped hobby packs feature players from all eight teams in the tournament. Also, as a hobby exclusive, fans can find autograph and one-of-one printing plate cards from players in the set!
These packs arrived in stores today and many fans are loving what they are seeing!
