Sirens were blazing and blaring around Upper Deck headquarters this week as we hosted our annual “Trick-or-Trade” event for local law enforcement & fire departments across San Diego County. Representatives were invited to come by and fill up bags of Upper Deck trading cards to hand out to kids during the Halloween holiday. Not only are trading cards an exciting treat for kids to receive, but they are also a healthy alternative to candy.
Over 20 different Police Departments, Sheriff Departments, Border Patrol & Fire Departments showed up at our UD headquarters and were given more than 30,000 packs of cards which varied among our sports and entertainment products. Our Upper Deck mascot, Coach Cardman, even made an appearance in his very festive “Coach Cardcula” costume inspired by Dracula himself.
Coach Cardcula & his fellow Upper Deck employees were excited to help our local hero’s load up bags with cards and assist them to their vehicles. Coach even ended up in the backseat of one of them after dinging the corners on some packs, but got released for good behavior.
Overall, the event was a huge success and we hope that the kids in our local community will be excited to receive Upper Deck trading cards this Halloween.
Happy Halloween!
