Upper Deck has been sharing a lot of great details about why now is the time to collect Upper Deck hockey cards with the 2013-14 NHL Double Rookie Class coming. To date collectors really haven’t seen much with regard to what products to expect and when from Upper Deck however. With so much interest around these 2013-14 NHL rookies, we wanted to pull back the curtain and share some of the first products of the year and what fans can expect from them.
The fun begins in July, 2013 when Upper Deck will announce the checklist for the 2012-13 NHL Artifacts and 2012-13 NHL Upper Deck Series One rookie redemption cards. These cards are currently scheduled to begin shipping that month as well! Collectors can expect to receive top rookie players who skated during the 2013 NHL season with these popular prospect cards!
Collectors can begin to see LIVE rookie content from those same rookies in packs with Upper Deck’s 2013-14 NHL releases beginning in July, 2013. Here is a snapshot of products to be on the lookout for as one of the most anticipated trading card seasons in recent history gets underway:
2013-14 NHL Upper Deck Trilogy – Upper Deck is kicking off this memorable season with 2013-14 NHL Upper Deck Trilogy arriving in stores on July 2. This high-end release will deliver tons of value filled with amazing autograph cards, great rookie content and unique technology cards. Thirty-three rookies (the top 33 rookies who skated during the 2013 NHL season) will be featured in the set and will have three different autograph rookie cards available for collectors to score. Many high-end collectors are already saving up for this release. Take a look at this gallery of rookie content in the product.
2013-14 NHL O-Pee-Chee – Next up on the calendar is a trading card product that is a little more wallet-friendly price point with 2013-14 NHL O-Pee-Chee set to release on August 6. It is the biggest set of the year so collectors can find a deep checklist of all their favorite players along with the highly desirable “Marquee Rookies” and rare “Retro Rookies.” There are a lot of fun elements to this set like stickers, team rings and team logo patches, but what rabid hockey fans will be going crazy for are those rookies. 2013 Upper Deck Team Canada Hockey – Releasing on August 20 we have a Canada exclusive product called 2013 Upper Deck Team Canada Hockey. While the product is not really about rookies, there will be some members of the 2013-14 Upper Deck NHL Double Rookie Class who have trading cards in this set like Jonathan Huberdeau and Dougie Hamilton. Here are a couple exclusive rookie images from that set of these players.
2013-14 NHL Upper Deck Artifacts – One of every collector’s favorite box opening experience returns on September 24 when 2013-14 NHL Upper Deck Artifacts releases. Amazing memorabilia cards and great rookie cards are really the draw for puck fans here. And this will be collector’s first opportunity to get a true taste of the 2013-14 Upper Deck NHL Double Rookie Class as there will be exchange cards good for recently drafted rookies who skate during the 2013-14 NHL season. 2013-14 NHL Upper Deck Series One – This is the NHL trading card product hockey collectors wait for every season, and this year will be no different. A bevy of great “Young Guns” rookie cards can be found in packs when 2013-14 NHL Upper Deck Series One releases the first week of November. This is also the first NHL product of the year that will have LIVE rookie content for members of the 2013-14 Upper Deck NHL Double Rookie Class in packs!
