This Tuesday Americans will head to the polls to make their decision on who will be the President for the next four years. And Upper Deck actually produced trading cards of both major candidates in the company’s 2011 World of Sports trading card line. Since we know our fans love giveaways, we thought we would have a little fun with the election coming up between Obama and Romney by offering up some product to our fans. Here is how it will work:
1) Choose which candidate you are or would vote for (Obama or Romney) from the two images below. Right click on the one you would choose and save the image to your computer.
2) Make that image your profile picture for your Facebook or Twitter account.
3) Facebook Users – You will need to create and post a haiku (5 syllables first line, 7 syllables second line, 5 syllables last line) on why you feel the candidate you chose is best for America using humor and creativity to Upper Deck’s Facebook Timeline by 5:00 p.m. Pacific on Saturday night, November 3. Leave that as your profile until 5:00 p.m. Pacific on Monday night and we will select a “candidate” from each party who most skillfully posted their haiku to the Upper Deck page.
4) Twitter Users – You will need to create and post a haiku (5 syllables first line, 7 syllables second line, 5 syllables last line) on why you feel the candidate you chose is best for America using humor and creativity and post to @UpperDeckSports on Twitter by 5:00 p.m. Pacific on Saturday night, November 3. Leave that as your profile until 5:00 p.m. Pacific on Monday night and we will select a “candidate” from each party who most skillfully posted their haiku to the Upper Deck page.
5) Do not begin until you read these important rules!
Vote with Upper Deck Rules
1) Let’s keep this civil. You cannot post anything about the other candidate, only the candidate you chose. Any derogatory comments will not be qualified and will be removed if applicable. Any negative comments to others haikus will be removed and may result in being banned from posting on the page.
2) We will select one candidate who posted the image of Mitt Romney and one who posted the image of Barack Obama from either Twitter or Facebook. There will only be two top candidates selected (one Obama from Facebook and Twitter and one Romney from Facebook and Twitter).
3) Those selected can make another decision, whether they would like to receive a box of 2012 Goodwin Champions or 2012 SP Authentic Golf.
4) You may only post one haiku per platform (Facebook or Twitter), but if you have an account for both, you can post two (one on Facebook and one on Twitter) for an extra chance to be chosen. They should obviously be different haikus as this will not be a random selection, but rather a skills-based giveaway.
5) If a fan changes their profile pic before 5:00 p.m. Pacific on Monday or does not follow the 5/7/5 rules of a haiku, they will not be eligible to be selected.

Why is Gary Johnson not included? He is our “other” choice.
GREAT CONTEST IDEA!
