Our hockey team has been working more than twelve-hours a day since Friday packing out 2010-11 NHL The Cup by hand. It’s hard work, but as we shared earlier, it is necessary on a high-end release like this. And while they have been toiling away getting this highly anticipated release ready for collectors, they have been taking pictures of some of the more interesting cards in the set which have been shared with fans on the Upper Deck Facebook page. It has been a lot of fun to see collectors reacting to the set. Even collectors who don’t normally collect hockey cards seem to appreciate the cards in this set.

And now as the team nears the end of this long pack out process, they come to some of the best cards in the set as they prepare packs that will contain some of the case hits. The idea of creating packs with case hits is designed to make sure we are spreading some of these better cards across the production run to avoid a situation where all these great cards may fall in a small section of the run. And nothing “sticks” out for collectors much more when they are opening a pack of NHL The Cup than finding the “Property Of” and “Scripted Sticks” cards.
