I shared last weekend the reasons why I was looking forward to the 2011 Sports Card & Memorabilia Expo in Toronto and as I hoped, it most certainly did not disappoint. Fans lined up early and often to take part in Upper Deck’s “Priority Signing” wrapper redemption program and they were happy they did! Fans were pulling some really amazing autographs from the set from players like Wayne Gretzky, Bobby Orr, Gordie Howe, Sidney Crosby, Alexander Ovechkin, Taylor Hall and many more. Many players were featured with Team Canada as well and that seemed to mean a lot to Canadian collectors in attendance.
UD fanatics were chomping at the bit to get the "Priority Signings" program started. If they opened a box of new UD cards, we would reward them with a FREE autograph card exclusive to that show.

It wasn’t just the cool “Priority Signings” cards that were making fans excited. Collectors were having a blast opening products like 2010-11 NHL SP Authentic, SPx and SP Game-Used. There were some MONSTER cards pulled during the weekend from those boxes that they are still likely talking about with other collectors.
This pull certainly was a "Great One" as he snagged a Wayne Gretzky autograph patch limited to just 25 copies!

On Saturday we had a really great event where we got about twenty collectors together of all ages and had Grant Sandground, UD’s NHL product manager, go through some of the new products coming out over the next few months. Grant was able to reveal that UD would indeed be producing The Cup later on this summer with more details coming out right before launch. As Grant walked them through the product while showing off large images of some of the cards, you could see anticipation grow for the release of the amazing product! It was powerful for us to be able to put together a focus group like this and we rewarded those who took part with a variety of goodies.

That certainly wasn’t all UD had going on at the Expo however. Each day we held a raffle that had collectors packed around the Upper Deck Booth for their chance to win a variety of sweet items from Upper Deck. We were giving away autographed mini sticks, autographed pucks, uncut sheets, boxes of cards, autograph cards, blow-up cards and more! We pulled out all the stops and even gave away a tin of The Cup each day of the show. Check out some of the happy collectors with their items they received from UD!

my best pull from upper deck hockey so far has been the 2009-2010 hockey where I pulled a Tyler Myers Young Gun, a John Tavares Young Gun, and a Upper Deck High Gloss of another Young Gun all in the same box.
I haven’t pulled anything significant from an UD hockey pack (I mostly collect baseball and football), but I would love to…especially some Pens cards! Thanks UD!!!
My best pull was when I got a box of Upper Deck Hockey for my birthday pulled a PK Subban Retro Young Guns Card! He is one of my favorite players and I just loved the card!
My best pull from a pack of Upper Deck Hockey cards would have to be the Wayne Gretzky Autographed Shadowbox card from this year’s SPX product. The Stamkos Autographed patch from the 08-09 The Cup was pretty sweet as well.

My best pull out of UD Hockey was a roberto luongo UD Game Jersey. It was actually just last weekend. I don’t have all that much money to spend on cards being a college student but when I pulled that card I was happy. As a blackhawks fan I took out my lighter and burnt the card up. One of the best feelings of my life, it helped take some of the sting away from the hawks first round loss to vancouver.
my best hockey pull was from 09/10 champs hockey, I pulled a mini bobby orr auto. Big time Bruins fans so a great pull for me!

Best card i ever pulled was a redemption card that was a dual auto from Bobby Clarke and Simon Gagne! Believe it from 80-09 UD Black. Go Flyers!!!
The best card I ever pulled was from a pack of UD Black, during the products first release. The first pack I busted I got a Black Foursomes with Howe, Makita, Hull and Mahovlich, numbered out of 5. All 4 swatches are aged. It’s a great historic card.
Hi the best pull I ever got was in 2005 I bought a box of Upper Deck Series one Hockey cards I opened pack after pack until I was down to one pack and sure enough on the last pack I find a Sidney Crosby Young Gun Rookie Card.I was excited and thought WOW .I later bought more boxes and packs thinking it was Lucky but no more Sidney Crosby rookies Thanks Upper Deck

The best card I have ever pulled from an Upper Deck Hockey product was a Mark Messier base card.
My best pull was from a box of SP Authentic 06-07. I knew that UD was packing in random RCs from 05-06 and I figured that there wouldn’t be any Crosby rookies packed with it. Boy was I wrong. I managed to puled a Crosby RC from a new product a year later. How many people can say that?

The best pull I ever had was from UD Black. My girlfriend likes to help me open boxes so I let her have one of the two packs in the box. After opening mine and receiving 2 average cards she opened hers. As soon as the wrapping was off I knew she had something incredible because of the sleeve on the card. When she flipped it over it was a 1/1 UD Black trophy cuts signed by Mark Messier, Jari Kurri, and Clarence Campbell! It was truly a pull of a lifetime and we were both shocked.
Looks like some awesome cards were pulled and a fun time by all. Well done Upper Deck!
I have got many decent pulls from Upper Deck products during the years, but probably my best pull is Patrick Roy SP auto from 06-07 Beehive.
Best pull I’ve had was from 04-05 Legends Classics. It was a triple auto of Gretzky, Lafleur, and Dionne out of 25. Sadly, I had to sell, but luckily pulled a Great one auto out of last years Ultimate. (this one’s not for sale)
Pulled a Gretzky auto, dual jersey #/25 from last years Ultimate. Went back a week later and pulled a St Loius auto dual patch /10. Love UD Ultimate. Between Ultimate and SP Game Used for best bang for buck in my opinion. Thanks for the contest/draw Upper Deck !

I just got into collecting hockey cards with my son. I had always been a football and baseball card collector. My son loves hockey so we decided to venture into collecting hockey cards as well. Earlier this week we went to our local shop and bought 8 packs of 2010-11 Sp Authentic. We pulled a Zac Dalpe Future Watch Auto with a sweet 4 color patch /100 and a redemption for a Sign of the Times Duals Mystery. We were pretty excited about the pulls. Thanks for the contest.

I pulled a Sidney Crosby rookie card once, that was actually my best pull. I’ve had a few nice patches/sigs numbered low but the Crosby RC was my favorite.

My best pull was definately a 10-11 SPx Magnus Paajarvi Rookie Patch Auto /25, two colour, triple seam patch, a definate beauty and is going to be on my personal collection shelf for many years to come.
I collect a lot of Dallas Stars cards, so imagine my surprise when I opened a pack of Trilogy I happened to buy and I pulled a three star spotlight card with Mike Modano, Jere Lehtinen, and Mike Ribero jersey card. Awesome!
I like two I have pulled, one from last seasons O-PEE-CHEE premier was a Gordie Howe patch auto #/25 and then this season I pulled a Jordan Eberle Ice Premieres #/99!!
Easily my 2 best ever pulls were the Steven Stamkos autographed Rookie patch from 2008-09 SP Authentic and the Game-Used Letter “E” from Henrik Zetterberg from 2008-09 SP Game Used.
Have to say the Best Hockey Pull was an Ovey Auto from 2008, Unforunatly it was STOLEN!!!!BOOOOO!!

i have never had any luck with hocky cards at all, but my my best pull was a zdeno charo game jersey from a pack of 2010-11 upper deck out of 30+ packs of that product, yeah i always take a beating when it comes to hockey cards though it would be nice to get something halfway decent one of these years im not counting on winning an auto on here because i know that people that already have sweet cards always get the sweet cards.
My best pull was a Patrice Bergeron rookie auto/patch from SP Authentic in a pack I got for Christmas years ago.
Never opened to much hockey but i know i pulled a 1997-98 Collectors Choice Jaromir Jagr Starquest that i traded for some UD baseball cards prob Griffey or Ripken at the time

i been buying upperdeck cards since the first year in 89 but never pulled anything in hockey i bought alot boxes of the first year hockey trying to get the brett hull autograph i have horrible luck trying to get anything out of a box so i just buy upperdeck products from ebay i cant wait for the release of 2011 sp legendary cuts, my other screen name has upperdeck in it and when i use 2 go in the chatrooms the girls would say whats upperdeck? and i would tell them and some would buy packs and boxes and they love u.d. too. lol

I started collecting cards late in life (two years ago) and have become a Gretzky and Crosby fan. I have had two great pulls for each: Gretzky – a 2009-10 Black Diamond #201, gold, #6/10; Crosby – a 2006-07 UD MVP One on One patch of Crosby/Ovechkin. My collection will eventually be divided between my two Grandsons, but, it is a quandary who will receive which collection???
