The collectibles business is a lot like other businesses where there are always people looking to take advantage of others if they can make a buck off it. When I managed Upper Deck’s Customer Care Department I would hear the horror stories of collectors who were ripped off at a show or online when purchasing products that had been tampered with. That is one of the reasons why I am happy about our decision to change our distribution program so we can work with partners who want to see the hobby grow and won’t play games with our products.
We’ve already shared the importance of purchasing from Certified Diamond Dealers and we are excited that we will have quite a few of them setting up at the 2011 Spring Sports Cards and Collectibles Expo in Toronto. We will have signage for them so make sure that if you are taking part in Upper Deck’s wrapper redemption program for Priority Signings cards that you are purchasing from a Certified Diamond Dealer. They will provide you a receipt in case there are any issues with the product as well. When you buy from a Certified Diamond Dealer, you have the peace of mind of knowing that you are covered in the event something goes wrong.
