At this weekend’s Bracket Town NCAA Men’s Final Four show in Houston, the joint is jumping! And the Upper Deck company booth is swarming with enthusiastic college hoops fans swinging by to secure their own personalized Upper Deck basketball cards for free! They simply march through the relatively quick line (average wait time: six minutes), pose for their personal photos wearing their choice of jerseys from this year’s Final Four teams – VCU, Butler, UConn or Kentucky – and 60 seconds later their unique keepsakes are printed, cut and hand delivered on the spot. It’s free and easy, and all of them exit the booth sporting an ear-to-ear grin. The video immediately below tells the story.
Other than that, the UD Booth is entertaining passersby with rounds and rounds of basketball sports trivia questions with great prizes at the waiting for knowledgeable contestants. With yours truly at the mike, “Kid Blast” Kevin Gniadek handling the Spin Wheel, Brandon Miller providing answers to interested trading card buyers, and events super planner and booth aficionado Jodi Wasserman making sure the operation is running on all cylinders, the hours and the days seem to be whizzing by at breakneck speed since we got here on Wednesday night.
One other important element to this week’s goings on inside Houston’s George R. Brown Convention Center is the fact that Upper Deck staffers are showing sneak previews of the company’s new “Evolution” video trading cards to attendees of the show and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. Take a gander at the video below to gauge their reaction(s) for yourself. Our dogs may be barking, but we’re here for the duration and loving every minute of it.
