I know it sounds morbid, but one of my favorite parts of the Oscars is Memoriam portion of the show. It’s so sad to see all the amazing performers who we’ve lost over the last year, but it is always a moving tribute. I didn’t realize it as I watched this year, but missing from the line-up of deceased stars was Corey Haim.
Monday we began to hear a bit more about the snub from his fans. His mother said, “A lot of people were pissed off he wasn’t mentioned and this was his last chance to be honored by his peers.”
His dear friend Corey Feldman said, “I am gravely disappointed that the public outcry of the voices of Corey’s supporters and fans on his omission from the SAG memorial was not heard by the Academy. Corey’s films have earned the industry over a half a billion dollars and his work remains an inspiration to young artists world wide.”
Corey Haim definitely had serious struggles with substance abuse, but many believe that alone is not reason enough to be snubbed in a program like this, especially after others with similar struggles have been honored by the Academy. Haim had appeared in dozens of films and also worked in television. I personally grew up with his movies and enjoyed the parts he played on the big screen. Upper Deck had the chance to work with Haim who signed for a couple different trading card releases over the years.
As a thank you to his fans, we will be giving a way a Sweet Spot Autograph card of Corey Haim. Corey loved the Vikings as they were one of the closest NFL teams to his hometown of Toronto. He also loved the color purple. For your opportunity to receive this card, leave a comment stating which film you would have liked to see Corey featured in if he was to have made it in the Oscars Memoriam program. We will randomly select a winner at random on Friday, March 4, 2011. Rest in peace Corey.

Without a doubt, “The Lost Boys!”
The Lost Boys was a classic.
Of Course “SILVER BULLET”!!!! I LOVE THAT MOVIE!!!
The Lost Boys
Lucas
Of course it would have had to have been The Lost Boys, the only true vampire movie in my eyes!
which movie do you want one that he was in or one that you would liked to have seen him in????
I think his best movie was “The Lost Boys”!!!!
I’d have liked to see him in The Lost Boys 3 as a vampire as originally planned.
The lost Boys. I know there is limited time due to the TV timeframe, but no segment of the Oscars is more important.
I would say either “License to Drive” or “Lost Boys”. I grew up watching him and still even watch his movies now. I felt bad for him when watching his show couples years ago how his best friend turned on him. He was getting his life together. He had several movies in the works. Life taken way to soon. And the first thing I said to my wife was Corey should been in that. RIP Corey
Lost Boys, by a wide margain.
License to Drive!!! RIP, Corey –
I hope this is where to leave this comment.. But you have to go with License to Drive with the 2 “Coreys”. It was a funny movie and who wouldnt had wanted to steal their grandfather’s Mercedes for a night. Corey Haim was the main character and was great!! He will be missed.
The Lost Boys…was my favorite movie of his…RIP Corey Haim
Everyone will say “The Lost Boys” or “The Goonies” or perhaps even former 90s cable staple “Blown Away” … But throw “License to Drive” on and I’m watching (at least for a little while)!
Wow…nice card ! My favorite move of his has to The Goonies ! A fun filled adventure any kid would enjoy. My wife was a huge fan of his , especially of the movie “The lost Boys”…she has several DVD’s of his and i think this would be a great surprise to show her if i did win this card. If i won , i think it would be hers in not too long !
Thanks for the chance 🙂

I would choose either “License to Drive” or “Lost Boys”. The first thing I told my wife was Corey was robbed. I grew up watching his movies and still to this day. I remember waking up last year and seeing about his death on “E” and was shocked. He was getting his life back on track and many movies he was working on. I felt bad for him after watch his show a couple years ago how his best friend turned on him. He is greatly missed. RIP COREY.
LOST BOYS!!! EPIC MOVIE one of his greatest. Was upset when he got snubbed too had a addiction that he couldn’t stop very sad.
I’d have to go with Lost Boys.
lostboys
Lost Boys was my favorite movie for years. It would have to be Lost Boys!
Don’t forget “Sliver Bullet”. Corey killed a wolf and vampires in his days
There was no better movie from the 80’s than Goonies!
Lost Boys was a epic movie.. was stoked when he made a camio in Lost boys 2 and props to corey Feldman for the paying respect to him in 3. He was a young star who had a addiction and payed for it with his life. very sad!!
my vote would be for The Goonies .. thats the movie that sticks out the most to me and was a great movie overall.
Wow this is hard! Well, part of me wants to answer Lost Boys but if I were in a conversation and someone asked who Corey Haim was, my brain would naturally tell me to say Corey Haim from The Goonies. So I have to go with The Goonies.
Thanks for doing this Upper Deck, It was really sad not to see him as a part of the show. It’s a great card and it is cool you are making it available to a fan.
My favorite Corey Haim movie was Dream a Little Dream. There are several parts that they could have used a humorous or dramatic clip of just him, being the actor I remember and grew up with as a kid. Rest in Peace Corey.

Thanks for doing this Upper Deck, It was really sad not to see him as a part of the presentation. It’s a great card and it is cool you are making it available to a fan.
Mine is “Anything for Love” not just because I had an opportunity to work with and meet him on the set here in Vancouver but cause it was a funny teen comedy.
“The Lost Boys”, it’s a no-brainer!
Silver Bullet Was a great young talent that passed way to soon, I hope the new generation stop destroying there lives like this!! RIP Corey!!
Lucas or Dream a Little Dream. Love them both.
No doubt
License to Drive.
Love it.
License to Drive. I was young when it came out, but I wanted to be “cool” like the Corey’s. Thanks for doing this Upper Deck!
Without a question LOST BOYS! Only the good die young RIP Corey Haim
lost boys with out a doubt
Actually gang, Corey Haim was not in The Goonies. You’re thinking of Corey Feldman there.
Thank you!!!…Somebody isn’t an idiot and actually KNOWS wth, the REAL, ‘Corey’ Haim is!!!
I would have to say LOST BOYS
Oh wow I totally got my wires crossed with the Haim/Goonies thing. You can’t see me but I’m blushing haha. Sorry about that.
I believe Lucas is Haim’s best film. RIP
I gotta go with “Lucas”!
I think he could have been shown with a clip from the movie “A Time To Live”. Really showed his versatile skills in that one even though it was a made for tv movie
lost boys. Classic film
Meatballs 4 or Blown Away. RIP Corey.
License to Drive!!
Lost Boys is a classic! RIP Corey

I agree with everyone, that Lost boys was there markee movie.
just for the shree Airplane style of fun and it was directed by the other Corey _ I say “Busted” as my movie choice
The Lost Boys was Corey Haim’s most memorable film due to his great, memorable character, an interesting story and an excellent ensemble cast. May Corey rest in peace and his memory live on.
