Brag Photo of the Week: Jordan Art
Posted by: | CommentsIf you’ve been with UpperDeckBlog.com from day one, you may remember our very first Brag Photo of the Week: it was a shot of the United Center floor before it got divided up and shipped out for our unique memorabilia pieces.

Well, with a select few pieces of that floor, we did something even more unique. Check it out:

This is a piece of the same floor, featuring unique art by Jolene Jessie, and autographed by MJ himself.

As you can tell by the numbering, quanitites are extremely limited, but we do have some left. Click here to check it out in the online store!

Brag Photo of the Week: Super Bowl Tickets
Posted by: | CommentsHey, what’s up? I’ve got Super Bowl tickets.

Ok, they’re not actually mine. But I did at least get to hold them for a few moments.
No, these (and other seats) are going to various folks who earned them, such as the winner of our 20th Anniversary promotion from last year, and our Ultimate Fan contest winner.
Upper Deck contest winners will be there, but which two teams will they be watching in The Big Game? We’ll find out this weekend.

Brag Photo of the Week: Does Whatever a Spider Can
Posted by: | CommentsEvery day I come to work, I walk up our big staircase, and I’m greeted by this guy:

Yeah. That’s our life-sized Spider-Man.
Here’s a better look at him ready to shoot webs at intruders (or anyone who comes in late, I’d imagine):

I know what you’re thinking: “Why does a sports card company have a giant Spider-Man in their office?” Well, aside from our sports cards, we also produce games like the World of Warcraft TCG. And this week, we launched a new website for our Marvel lineup in 2010: PlayMarvel.com
Check it out, and be sure to join Play Marvel on Facebook too!

Brag Photo of the Week: Bats
Posted by: | Comments
What’s that? Bats.
I know it’s chilly in most of the country right now, so it’s all about football playoffs, hockey and basketball. But look, it’s 68 degrees today in Carlsbad. Perfect weather for baseball.
Oh, the bats. Fine. You want a closer look?

That’s a lot of bats.
Ok, one step closer. But then we’re done.

These bats are all signed by Ken Griffey Jr., who will be playing what is likely to be his final season in 2010. With the additions of Chone Figgins, Cliff Lee and Milton Bradley (and some key subtractions to the Angels), it’s looking like it may be a playoff season for Seattle in The Kid’s swan song. Want one? Click here to get one! Note that some editions are limited edition and numbered (like the ones you see here), while others are open (not numbered).
We’ve been with Grifffey for his whole career, and our partnership with him in this industry is legendary. He doesn’t sign too frequently, preferring to get it all done in one sitting: this makes having all these pieces in one place that much more impressive.
As far as our upcoming season is concerned, we’ve got plenty of exciting products in store for our baseball line in 2010: we’ve got the stars, the quality, and have earned the reputation for leading the category over the last 20 years. Stay tuned.

Brag Photo of the Week: Marvel at THIS!
Posted by: | CommentsWe spend most of our time on the blog talking about sports cards, so it can be easy to forget that Upper Deck has a full line of Entertainment trading cards and games as well. Next year, we’re releasing a whole portfolio of Marvel products (you can find out more by visiting PlayMarvel.com, and checking out our Twitter and Facebook pages).
Our dedicated sports collectors are well aware of the value 1-of-1 cards carry. For Marvel, we’ve got some pretty unique 1-of-1’s too.

If you squint closely, you’ll see that this is actually a group of four cards. Each its its own unique sketch, drawn up by a top artist. Put these four together, and you get one very cool full picture of Iron Man. These are from the upcoming Iron Man 2 trading card set, coming out in April. It’ll include sketch cards like these, autograph cards and memorabilia cards.
Of course, you probably won’t put all four together, since there’s only one copy of each card in existence. Tell you what: pull it off when these cards are released in 2010, send us a photo, and we’ll refeature it here as a Brag Photo of the Week. It’s the least we can do for achieving such a collecting feat. The gauntlet has been thrown down!
