While most view collecting sports cards as a North American hobby, it is really popular all over the world. And just like there are passionate collectors in North America, there are collectors equally as passionate, if not more so, overseas. We’ve highlighted collectors in Germany and Switzerland before, but we wanted to share the story of an incredible golf card collector from Japan.
“I'm a Japanese card collector named Mizota and have been collecting since 2012. I bought the 2012 SP Game-Used Golf because it was the same year I started playing golf. If I could choose my favorite Golf cards they would be the ones with Michael Jordan's signature, they are the best and my favorite to collect.
“My favorite professional golf players are Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. One day, I got something wonderful one, which was a Tiger Woods & Jack Nicklaus dual autograph card and Jack Nicklaus & Arnold Palmer dual autograph card!! It was so amazing. I was extremely surprised!!
“Since then, I have become an enthusiastic card collector and find it more enjoyable than playing golf. There are many wonderful card stores in Japan, especially in Tokyo. The store keepers and collectors are so friendly and kind.
“When you visit Japan, please come and see those card stores. You would find the most wonderful trading card treasures you have ever seen.”
Thank you so much for sharing Mizota, your collection is most impressive!
