It’s not everyday a rookie scores in an early season game, but for Tomas Hertl, he already had two goals on the books for the San Jose Sharks when the team faced off against the New York Rangers. So when Hertl’s first goal came, it was a nice moment, but not overly special. And then the next one came. And the next. And even after he had recorded a hat trick, he laid the type of goal on the Rangers that even a NHL superstar would be jealous of. It was nothing short of amazing, and Tomas Hertl is just 19-years-old. Take a look at Hertl’s amazing night:
For months we have been talking about how special Upper Deck’s 2013-14 NHL Double Rookie Class was going to be and collectors got their first real glimpse of that last night with Hertl’s performance. And make no doubt about it, more great performances are yet to come this season from this talented crop of Young Guns. Now really is a great time to collect Upper Deck NHL cards with all the additional value fans can find with such a deep class.
In the meantime however, last night’s performance has left fans asking themselves one question, “Where can I get Tomas Hertl’s rookie cards?”
Well for starters, he will definitely have a place in Upper Deck’s 2013-14 NHL Artifacts Rookie Draft Pick redemption set so fans who have pulled those types of cards should hold tight to hear where Hertl will land in that set. He is also slated to appear in 2013-14 NHL Upper Deck Series One as card #248 in the Young Guns set. He will also have a UD Canvas Young Guns card. Hertl is also slated to have rookie and rookie autograph cards in 2013-14 NHL Black Diamond and in 2013-14 NHL SPx products from Upper Deck as well. Here’s a sneak preview of his cards from 2013-14 NHL Upper Deck Series One releasing in early November, don’t miss it!
Hertl's 2013-14 NHL Upper Deck Young Guns card will likely be one of the most desirable rookies in the set!
Upper Deck was able to make a last-minute photo change for Hertl's UD Canvas Young Guns card to commemorate the fourth, and perhaps most memorable goal or Hertl's young career.
