When Upper Deck first announced the company was creating a wrapper redemption program exclusive to customers of Certified Diamond Dealers for 2012-13 NHL O-Pee-Chee, many collectors were excited about the opportunity to earn an incentive for supporting the product in Canada. And for set collectors this represented an exciting new challenge for those willing to undertake chasing this rare parallel set. So popular was the promotion that it was not rare to see collectors in the U.S. trading and even selling empty wrappers of 2012-13 NHL O-Pee-Chee to collectors in Canada.
In the announcement for the 2012-13 NHL O-Pee-Chee wrapper redemption program Upper Deck indicated that packs were limited and the offer was available while supplies last. We also indicated we would issue a “last call” warning when stock on these packs was nearing depletion. Well collectors, this is that last call! We anticipate we will have enough packs to fulfill for collectors sending in packs through a Certified Diamond Dealers through the end of August so if you’ve been sitting on those packs, now is the time to send them in to UD’s Canadian Fulfillment Center.
We want to thank everyone who participated in the program for the 2012-13 NHL O-Pee-Chee product and we hope you enjoyed the additional value these packs provided.
And as we begin a new wrapper redemption program for 2013-14 NHL O-Pee-Chee, we want to issue a small warning to collectors and participating Certified Diamond Dealers. We have a unique situation with the 2013-14 Upper Deck NHL Double Rookie Class where we are already seeing a heightened interest in hockey trading card releases. Given this increased demand, it is highly unlikely the wrapper redemption product for this season will last as long as last season’s did during a lockout.
So whether you are opening the 2012-13 or 2013-14 NHL O-Pee-Chee trading card product in Canada, make sure to get those wrapper in soon to claim your FREE O-Pee-Chee red parallel cards! Both of these promotions are exclusive to hobby packs of NHL O-Pee-Chee.
