Upper Deck is working closer than ever before with its network of Authorized Distributors before running some fun promotions through them by spending more time with their customers. This morning, members of Upper Deck’s Product Development, Marketing and Customer Care teams trekked 75 miles north for a Meet the Manufacturer event at Anaheim-based GTS Distribution. GTS is one of four Authorized Distributors nationwide for Upper Deck.
Hobby shop owners from throughout southern California stopped by before they opened their respective shops for another day of sales to spend a little time with the Upper Deck staff and get a sneak peek at what UD is coming out with next. The first order of business was discussing 2011 Upper Deck Football which hit store shelves today. One of the big draws in this product is the chance to find one of the first-ever, high-definition video trading cards known as EVOLUTION. Hobby shop owners stood open-mouthed as they watched these cards come alive for the first time.
Next we discussed some of the exciting baseball releases we have planned for this summer like Goodwin Champions and SP Legendary Cuts. We brought actual paintings used in the set and as a fun twist, a complete set of the Entomology (bug) cards that were a huge hit when the product debuted in 2009.
From there, we moved on to a presentation from members of Upper Deck Authenticated who shared some of the exciting new items they have in the pipeline. Take a look!

Lastly, our Customer Care Manager, Nick Leslie, spent some time with visiting shop owners to address any customer concerns they may have. All the hobby shop owners in attendance were members of Upper Deck Certified Diamond Dealer program so they were definitely dedicated to helping out their customers and keeping them happy.
All in all it was great to get some time to share new products with our customers and get some crucial feedback on them. We look forward to doing it again soon. Thanks to everyone at GTS and to their customers for spending time with us today!
